Streaks of superstions!!!
'Learn to develop a scientific approach in life' is something that we are taught through out our student life. How many succeed in developing one would be a different story all together!!
Well, back to superstitions - what is it that would qualify to be called a "superstition" - Irrational thoughts, perspectives and actions that can not be reasoned out. Things like lucky colours, lucky shirts, lucky shoes so on and so forth (this list would never end)
I am sure, we all have some such beliefs that we follow, may be consciously or unconsciously. Of course, the intensity of these beliefs would differ person to person. Based on the same I would classify superstition believers in the following manner (not to be really taken seriously)
1. Believers of superstitions without any guilt:
These people would do whatever it takes to keep up their beliefs not caring what others would think. In fact, would make it a point to prove their point behind their logic. They see a black cat and rightfully go three steps behind and would explain "can't take chances in life!!" They meet with success and owe it to their favorite dress worn to be the lucky charm - this would be the same dress they land up blaming meeting failure. They will not leave the house without reading the daily horoscope and await for the lucky dates mentioned in them.
2. Believers of superstitions but portray a Rational image
Will firmly stand by their belief's as being rational and would show off not caring about the horoscopes in front of friends - but wait to take a glimpse of it, all but to criticize of how people even bother reading it. Will not care when all their friends are getting their palms read to understand their destiny - but would subtly be eager for their chance to come, to know what their destiny holds for them. Some people aware of the fact that they too are prone to these illogical thoughts; that they too have these streaks of superstitions; but some still living in the delusion of being a complete rational soul.
3. Completely rational thinkers
One might wonder how would rational thinkers be classified as superstitious people. Now read my logic - I believe no human can ever be a rational thinker at all times and all walks of life - Streaks of irrationality are naturally imbibed in them. (How should this logic be classified is all up to you.)
As long as superstitions are harmless and do not take toll of one's life, I think its alright to have them. The point is, however, being conscious of reality - danger is when one's out of reality - in an illusionary world. Then thats the time "beware". The fun is to let ourselves lose at times; doing things for ourselves not caring 'what others might say' and enjoy the living in life.
And about me, I am not superstitious; just a Taurean!!!

i dunno about superstitions but i know for sure that if a lucky shirt or dress adds up to atleast 1% of my existing level of confidence i wud mite as well do it. d biggest trait of being a human is " not owning up 2 ur own wrongs" and just like v hav perpetualy blamed GOD for all our wrongs probably dese superstitions gives GOD rest for sum time. D classifications gr8 i wonder wer i blong.. cheers
